Content and physical description
ContentAt the same time he writes back to Karel Šebánek's first letter in which he asks for some scores. VZPOURA NOT is the property of the Brno Theatre, they already had the score at home but wanted it back. WHO'S THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL is at the National Theatre in Prague - maybe the KS theatres would lend the scores. Only THE BUTTERFLY are at home. He must add to the attached inventory [see Appendix] that he has everything in a safe deposit box at the Savings Bank, he doesn't remember exactly what is in the manuscript and it is difficult to search through the Savings Bank - so if KS needs anything from the listed pieces, he should write and they will go there to look it up. Among other things, there are about 22 notebooks of "SERENAD" - they don't think that's a manuscript, then 25-30 notebooks of "LITTLE DANCE SUITE", which KS himself sent and whose score is probably with Mr. [Miloš] Šafránek? Here are just the voices. Bohuslav Martinů often writes them in a good mood and with an appetite for work. On Sunday they [the family in Polička] had a visit of 4 BM admirers from Brno. BM had correspondence with one of them, Prof. [Zdeněk] Zouhar. They were enthusiastic, they were going to give a concert in Brno on 8.12. - only Polička was silent. In Brno they gave TŘI ČESKÉ DANCE on 31.10. and V. SYMFONIA on 21.10. MM asks KS to write to her which verse in the HYMN TO SAINT JAMES is faulty, so that they can alert the author in time.
