It is thus evident that the label is working hard, at the same time preparing several extensive recordings: a complete set of symphonies, operas and also an EPOS ABOUT GILGAMES. This brings with it many economic worries and also problems with the selection of performers.
The label plans to make a recording of the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 in cooperation with the Czech Philharmonic during the 1973-1974 season. On June 12, 1973, the publishing house asked Don L. Roberts to send a copy of the score, according to which they would be able to publish the work. They still have not received a reply to this letter. The release of the piece is therefore in jeopardy and the publishing house would be happy to have ChM help them.
The publication of ChM's memoirs in French has also not yet been resolved. The Supraphon publishing house was forced to contact the Artia publishing house, which handles foreign distribution. The response was negative, only after the intercession of Prof. Páleníček did they promise to look for a publishing house in France together with Supraphon that could become a co-editor and also be in charge of sales in Belgium and France. Part of the print run would then remain in Czechoslovakia for promotion. So they are leaving this matter open for now until they sign a contract with a French publisher. |
