Content and physical description
ContentHe got a job teaching composition at the Berkshire Music Center. Now to the questions. He was well known in the US for his performances of THE SCREAM and RHAPSODY. He got to know the Czech society in NYC. The beginning was difficult. He left most of his compositions in France. Szell saved CONCERTO GROSSO. He has already finished two movements of SYMPHONY No. 1 for Koussevitzky. CONCERTO DA CAMERA was premiered in Basel, and the CLASSICAL QUARTET was performed in Colorado. SONATA DA CAMERA was premiered in Geneva, and together with SYNPHONIETTA GIOCOSA, these are the last two pieces he brought back from France. The DOUBLE CONCERT will be performed next season, possibly with Stockowski. Overall, it feels like he is starting over. He can stand up for what he does and accept responsibility. V. Benes will send an article on artists and the artistic situation himself.
