| Content | Mr. and Mrs. Jakerl would like to thank the Martin family for their kind welcome. After their return to Sweden, they began to look for SYMPHONY No. 6, which they had fallen in love with at Vladi's before meeting Bohuslav Martinů. After a long effort, a friend who was on his way to San Francisco finally got the symphony for them. In Stockholm they got an LP record from the Westminster label, which contains CONCERTO GROSSO, SERENADA, CONCERT FOR SMITH QUARTET AND ORCHESTRA and PARTITA. Naturally, this record was immediately bought by conductor Svoboda, with whom Marlen Jakerle sang a piece by Joseph Haydn. mJ was also very moved by THE OPENING OF THE STUDIOS. But it was difficult for them to find a record. MJ wrote to Prague for it, but the work sold out immediately. Jan Wenig eventually begged Miloslav Bures for the record, but it arrived broken, which hurt MJ very much. So she has at home only BM's score for her private singing. It's a treat for her to sing these songs. MJ has loaned Symphony No. 6 to the director of Konserthuset Stockholm, who is putting together the programmes, so that he can get to know BM's work and hopefully make a decision. Unfortunately, however, everything goes at a Nordic, and therefore snail's pace with them. mJ also keeps an eye on what BM works are played in Stockholm. on 18 June, SEDM ARABESEK was performed by Blaise Calom. on 24 June, several Swedish artists played the second movement of the MADRIGAL SONATA, and on 25 September, Joshua played the SONATINA FOR HUSSOUL AND CLAVIER, of which he encloses a clipping. MJ also encloses photos - 9 pieces. Jiri Jakerle is happy to make enlargements for BM - just email the numbers of the photos he is interested in. |
