Content and physical description
ContentKarel Šebánek received a reply from Associated Music Publishers on the pages of SONATA FOR FLUTE AND PIANO. They are planning to create a reissue of this sonata, which is on sale at Eschig. He asks if Charlotte Martinů has received a copy of it. They need to do an edition with René Leroy's revision as soon as possible. Hubert Šimáček would like to add THREE MADRIGALS to his repertoire. KS believes that this is "the duo that Max [Eschig] has with him" and which KS has not yet seen. He assumes, therefore, that ChM will give a copy of the piece to KS. In February 1967, the premiere of GREEK PASSIONS will take place under the baton of [Vaclav] Kaslik, who also prepared PLAYS ABOUT MARY in Wiesbaden. Václav Nosek included JULIET in the programme of the National Theatre in Brno for the 1966/1967 season. NONET [No. 1] was a great success in Great Britain, Italy and Germany, performed by the Czech Nonet. [Nora] Grumlíková also performed the SONATA D MOLL and CZECH RHAPSODY abroad several times. Karel Šolc and [Josef] Kalaš were delighted to receive a card from ChM, and KS handles their thanks. Schneider-Schott thanked them for their wishes. Panton Publishing has prepared an edition of the Sonata in D minor, the SCHERZ, the SEXTET, the CONCERTINA FOR VIOLONCELLO, BREATHS, CLAVIER AND DICKS and part of the ORCHESTRAL SUITE FROM THE JULIETTE OPERA. They work very slowly. KS has no information regarding the manuscripts of the CONCERTO FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2 and SYMPHONY No. 2.
