Content and physical description
ContentConnections with foreign countries are now limited, you cannot send money from or to the Czech Republic. They should try to perform the works in the Czechoslovakia, especially on the radio, which Martinů had previously neglected. Material CONCERTINA FOR CL. TRIO AND SMYČC. ORCHESTRA should be in Melantrich. They are to contact S. Novák, in whose desk Martinů left some music, but the CONCERTINO will probably not be there. Martinů asks for the release of JULIETTA, VESELOHRY ON THE BRIDGE, SEXTET [wind or string?] and SMYC. TRIO [No. 1 or No. 2 - more likely]. From JULIETTA the French publisher wants to publish first a key extract of fragments, and later the whole opera. Likewise VESELOHRA ON THE BRIDGE, but it is only a march. Martinů has no news from UE Wien. They are to offer to radio INVENTIONS and THE BIRTH OF THE LORD [PLAYS ABOUT MARY] and to pick up RONDA from Smetáček. He will look for sl. Jakubíčková, he doesn't know what happened to her. Is the English text in the Nativity of the Lord supported? He's trying to make contact with the US.
