Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is very busy, there is no time for new piano things. He consults repertoire with Karel Šolc. He recommends him to play his (BM's) older pieces for piano for the time being. He sent the first (new) piano sonata to Eliška Nováková in Brno - he can get a copy through K. Šebánek. He has fewer violin pieces. People can get his new compositions from foreign publishers. For Sonata No. 3 for cello he agrees with František Smetana's arrangements, and is interested in new phrasing. He has many scores in N. Y. He comments on Solzhenitsyn's concert programme. Reflects on how the world has changed, the future... Every day he gets a new poem to set to music, he's at a loss.
