Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů is delighted with the success of HER O MARIA. She is also eagerly awaiting the discs of the CONCERT FOR TWO PIANOS AND ORCHESTRA. She asks Karel Šebánek if VZPOURA will be played at the [Prague Spring] Festival, and asks for a programme so that she can make a programme for her Prague visit. Asks KS to thank [Zdeněk] Pechold for sending the opera to [Harry] Halbreich. ChM has seen [Didier] Duclos and it is confirmed that JULIETTA will be performed in Angers in February 1970. It is necessary to ask ZP to have everything ready: translations, score and material. According to DD, the GREEK PASSIONS were performed in Antwerp, ChM had no idea of this fact. The Passions were also performed in Parma in February 1969. ChM asks KS to inform her if the RHAPSODY-CONCERTO piece has been approved by the FOK, and asks for the score and material to be sent to her. [Ronald] Golan will record the work in June with Supraphon. ChM asks KS if he knows that NONET [No.1] has received the Académie Charles-Cros prize. The piece was also recorded by Supraphon. ChM also spoke to [Philipp] Marietti, who confirmed that he had sent the tracks to KS. However, KS can ask [Josef] Páleníček whether the music from the Parisian labels Leduc, Eschig and Heugel has arrived. ChM received a thank you from Milos Sadl for the book by [Harry] Halbreich. MS asked if SONATA DA CAMERA had been published. ChM believes it has not. She asked [Wolfgang] Timaeus if the manuscript of the piece was edited in January 1970. He replied that INKANTACE and Allegro symphonique [RHAPSODIE] had been edited. KS should therefore call MS and tell him to call Bärenreiter. ChM believes that Sascha Vettomov performed the work at the International Music Festival in Brno, so he has the orchestral score and material. Today is the 38th anniversary of the wedding of ChM and Bohuslav Martinů. ChM asks KS to let her know the news about [Anna] Špačková. ChM spoke in Basel with Paul Sachre at the parties of the CONCERT FOR VIOLIN, PIANO AND ORCHESTRA. PS will look into the matter and ChM will return to Basel in April to resolve the situation. A Geneva flutist asks ChM if there is a Sonata for flute and organ that he saw in the London catalogue. He then asks KS if this piece exists. HH thinks not.
