Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů has not heard from Marcel Mihalovici for a long time, he wonders how he is and whether they are still in Cannes. BM has been living on an island off New York for three months and has returned to composing CONCERTO DA CAMERA for Sacher. He is interested in news of his friends. Milhaud is not at all happy with Fitelberg. Chamber music is almost non-existent here and "very noisy" music is successful. BM is interested in news about his compositions. In Berkshire they have performed TRE RICERCARI, "Duo" [CONCERTING DUO?], "Trio" [CONCERT FOR CLASSICAL TRIO AND SMITH ORCHESTRA?], "Quartet" [CONCERT FOR SMITH QUARTET AND ORCHESTRA?] Koussevitzky will premiere CONCERTO GROSSO in the winter; there will also be a SINFONIETTA GIOCOSA with Germaine Leroux, and possibly a CONCERT SUITE FOR VIOLINS AND ORCHESTRA with Dushkin, but this is not yet complete.
