Content and physical description
ContentMartinů can't send photos. Kršnák [? illegible] could make a portrait so that the edition would not be delayed. Some of the photographs are with Drtikol.
If there is a performance of HERES ON MARIA in Brussels, Heller could conduct Mariken from the piano lift in Olomouc. If not, the score must be copied.
Martinů has a chance to publish CONCERTO GROSSO, Melantrich has to decide if he wants to publish it.
Martinů sent back light piano pieces He is not able to compose this genre (it has no artistic value), but he could do a cycle of Bohemian dances (not modern or salon).
Melantrich confirmed receipt of CONCERTA GROSSO, but there was also a score of INVENTIONS. He cannot find the score of CONCERTINA [FOR CL. TRIO AND SM. ORCHESTR]. M. Eschig should have informed Melantrich about the performance of CONCERTO FOR CLAVER AND ORCHESTRA No. 1. They are not to charge much for the "Serenades" [SERENADA No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and DIVERTIMENTO [SERENADA No. 4] (150 CZK). The BBC, where the "sextet" [SEXTET FOR PIANO AND BIRDS or MUSIC SEXTET] was performed, will give the LEGEND OF ST. DOROTH [THE SLEEPER] and THE NAMING OF THE LORD [PLAYS ABOUT MARY]. Martinů had translations made. Did they have the material written out? He complained to Czechoslovak Radio in Prague that they don't play it, perhaps it will have an effect.
