ContentCharlotte Martinů apologizes for the late reply, she was upset about the death of her aunt. She is pleased that Karel Šebánek is active in the manuscript matter. [Václav] Kašlík told her that there will be a screening of ŠPALÍČK on television. She hopes that the CHESS OF KINGS will be performed in 1968. ChM is pleased that [Vaclav] Nosek has many plans for 1968 and 1969. [Emil] Leichner did a good promotion together with the [Bohuslav Martinů Piano Quartet?] Next week ChM will see Mr. Philippe [probably Philippe Marietti] of the Eschig label and ask him to send all the music to BM KS. ChM has no news about his book and does not want to ask anyone. Heugel has sent the SMITH TRIO [No. 1 or No. 2). ChM also asks that KS write to [Wolfgang] Timaeus and ask him to send the TRIO FOR FLUTEN, VIOLONCELLO AND CLAIR to [Bohus] Heran. ChM has received correspondence from people for whom he has no address and does not even know, e.g. Josef Horák and Emma Kovárn, so ChM asks KS to contact them. She is considering going to Wiesbaden at Christmas to hear the premiere of PLAYS ABOUT MARY and to visit Schneider-Schott to explain matters regarding the CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2. For she is sure that the manuscript of the piece is in Mainz. ChM may also be going to Prague for the premiere of THEATRE BEHIND THE GATE, so they can talk to KS about all matters. [Jaromír] Špaček says that the French translations are ready, only there are complications with the payment.
