Content and physical description
ContentMartinů sends a proof of SONATINA. Martinů does not need a second proofreading; if it is necessary, Mr. Nopp should do it.
Heller wrote what's up with the MARIA PLAYS. Martinů sent the manuscripts at the beginning of August; perhaps Melantrich has already received them and will quickly forward them to Heller.
Martinů would like to put "the little plays" [THE VESELOHRA ON THE BRIDGE, THE VOICE OF THE FOREST, ALEXANDRE BIS] into one full-length play, so they are not to sell each one separately. Saffránek is said to have sent the score of CONCERTINA FOR PIANO TRIO AND SMITH ORCHESTRA, so perhaps Melantrich has already received it. Martinů copied the LEGEND OF ST. DOROTH [from the ballet THE BALLET] and THE BIRTH OF THE LORD [from THE GAMES OF MARY] and had an English translation made. When the translation is ready, he will send it. He wants to get them on the radio in London. He has edited the piano extract of THE SINGER and transcribed the whole of it to make it as light as possible.
