Content and physical description
ContentKarl Vötterle explains to Charlotte Martinů that it is impossible to produce new orchestral material for RAPSODY (viola) and confirms the information given to the addressee in a letter of 19 April [Bär 1961-04-19]. Paul Sacher promptly made one copy of the piano lift. KV informed Harry Halbreich in January about further works by Bohuslav Martinů and says that HH intended to inform her immediately. They have decided not to publish the ballet THE STRANGER and CONCERT FOR VIOLIN, PIANO AND ORCHESTRA - the ballet is not suitable for their theatres and the concert already belongs to an American publisher.
KV gives a list of the BM compositions they have decided to publish. KV mentions the difficulty with the SONATA DA CAMERA - he believes it is in the possession of the cellist Henri Honegger, and notes that they have received reports from HH of the alleged loss of the piece. Mentions planned performances and informs the addressee in a post-script of the annual bill.
