Content and physical description
ContentTypescript transcription of two texts:
1) Martinů's text "Notes on Juliet" written by Bohuslav Martinů and printed in the magazine Národní divadlo, vol. XV., No. 8 (5 February 1938), p. 4: BM highlights the complex performance complexity of the work and its multifaceted atypicality, a reaction to some critics who interpreted Martinů's approach as a weak attempt at reformism in the style of Monteverdi, Gluck, or Wagner.

2) Jindřich Honzl's text "On the staging of Juliette or Snara" from the journal Národní divadlo XV, No. 8 (5 February 1938), pp. 5-6: the author cites Martinů's quotation concerning his GAMES OF MARIA as an essential principle of modern theatre: "My principle is, in principle, very simple, namely, not to use music to express something that cannot be expressed by music."
