Content and physical description
ContentThere were significant complications in arranging the travel of Jaroslav Mihule and his family to Vieux-Moulin. In mid-July, JM wrote to Charlotte Martinů that he had not yet obtained a visa, despite the cooperation of Richard Klos. ChM wrote to Ambassador Juraj Sedlak because Lorenc had left for Czechoslovakia at that time. A few days later JM wrote to her that he had received his visa. However, when he wished her a happy birthday on 21 July [1976], he wrote that he had been given permission to go to Switzerland, not France. ChM has had no news of this since. She also received a very pessimistic letter from [Josef] Páleníček concerning the negotiations with [Paul] Sacher regarding the transfer of Bohuslav Martinů's remains from Switzerland. She thinks that only JM would be able to reach an agreement with the PS. If he cannot come to France, ChM will go to Switzerland, although he does not know with whom, because Alain [Bécourt] is in England until 29 August [1976].
ChM thanks RK for the birthday wishes and the photographs.
Could RK tell Panton that ChM has sent them the contract for the CONCERT FOR PIANO, PIANO AND ORCHESTRA and NOCTURNO [No. 1?] ChM writes that she made a mistake and will send another contract. On 12 July [1976] she sent Lubos Sluka a contract for CONCERT No. 1 FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA, which Panton sent to her with his signature. It was finally settled, let RK tell them that they no longer had to send SCHERZO (DIVERTIMENTO), ChM already had that. She also received 10 piano extracts of the CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 1.
Did RK send the score of LE JAZZ to [Didier] Duclos at Boosey & Hawkes, Paris?
She learned from Jürgen Sieber that BM's work was very popular in Scandinavia, the sheet music selling well there.
Dusan Pertot asked ChM for a copy of the score of ARIADNA, which ChM did and sent it to him in Prague on 26 May 1976. Could RK ask him if he had already received the sheet music? Otherwise he will have to deal with the post office.
Does RK have any news from [Hans] Steinbeck of SUISA regarding copyright?
She has received the score of KYTICE, Czech and German versions. She thinks there was a French one.
It's been incredibly dry.

Transcript 11.8.1976
JM and family arrived on Friday. JM wanted to see Laurence, but he left on 1.8. He won't see the Sachers either, they will be away for the whole holiday. When AB returns, they will go to Pratteln. They'll be there Sept 1, don't know if PS will be back. Too bad he can't go to Prague Spring Festival.
Thanks for the good news about [Karl] Šebánek. ChM won't go to Prague until after the New Year, and will be happy if AB accompanies her. She will be happy to meet friends again and visit Marianske Lazne. Michael Hendersen seems to be finishing his book on BM.
