Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is thrilled that Arthur Rodzínski plans to play MEMORIAL TO THE PEOPLE during the celebrations for the anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. However, he would like to ask AR if he could replace the piece with another work. Lidice Memorial is a special, short piece. BM would be happy if a more representative work of his could be played. BM is going to premiere SYMPHONY No. 2 in Cleveland and offers the New York Philharmonic a performance of it after January 1944. If AR would be interested in the score, BM would be happy to send it to him. He also offers a DOUBLE CONCERT. BM's works are played by several orchestras in the United States, but unfortunately he has no works for the New York Philharmonic. He would be happy to have one of his compositions on their program.
