Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav [and Charlotta] Martinů did not hear from Paul [and Maja] Sacher for a long time. They think it is now possible to write to Switzerland.
BM and ChM have thought a lot about the addressees during the past four years. Perhaps the situation will be better now that the war in Europe is over. Writers occasionally received messages from Nelly Louise Frey.
They offer to send packages to addressees with things that are not available in Europe. They had already sent something to Tibor Harsányi and Marcel Mihalovici in France. They wrote to them, they're all healthy.
BM doesn't know when they [with ChM] will be able to return to Europe, especially because he wants to be present at the premieres of his works: the two symphonies [SYMFONIE No. 3, SYMFONIE No. 4], the CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2, the CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2 with Mischa Elman [it was not a premiere], etc.
The Boosey & Hawkes publishing house wants to publish a DOUBLE CONCERT. However, at the moment there is only one surviving copy of the score. Perhaps the copies that PS has could be used. He is to contact Ralph Hawkes and ask.
B&H will publish SYMPHONY #1 and SYMPHONY #2. BM now has four symphonies. It will be easy to publish the TWIN CONCERT if they have copies.
Ermest Ansermet performed SYMPHONY No. 1. BM was happy to have his work performed again in Europe.

ChM's note: ChM hopes that he and BM will be able to return to France this year and see their friends again. BM wrote a lot and is still writing. ChM would like to hear all his works in Europe.
