ContentThey regret that Karel Šebánek could not come to the premiere. Is your mother sick or your sister? The premiere was a great success, and they thank Mr. [Zdeněk] Zouhar for his excellent staging and love for the work. Mr. [Miroslav] Bures was also pleased, he received well-deserved recognition. He asks that the MB not be forgotten with royalties. He is looking forward to filming the wells in the spring - but it looks like they will be figures. Has Bohuslav Martinů commented on this? KS asked for a transcript of a letter from the National Museum: the Music Department of the N.M. took over the manuscript scores of the following works by BM on 7 February 1952. INSTRUMENTS, PIANO AND PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS, sig. N.M. VIIB 396; BLUE HOUR VIIB 397; ISTAR, Ballet of Three Acts VIIB 398; MAGICAL NIGHTS, Three Songs on Chinese Texts VIIB 399. NM welcome the news that a contract has been signed to allow greater dissemination of BM's works, and that his works will be made available to the Czech Music Fund for copies. They do not appear to be granting ownership to the Martin family. They have had no news from BM since 25 December, he wrote at the time that they were moving, no message for the holidays, which is strange for him. BM's address: 108 East 60 Street New York, N.Y.
