Content and physical description
ContentBrian Large is in the process of sending books on Bohuslav Martinů by [Jaroslav] Mihul and [Zdeněk] Zouhar. He believes he already has all the key recordings of BM's works that have been published so far. However, he is interested in the Brno radio broadcasts and the BM works recorded there and whether it would be possible to acquire them. Greetings to ZZ and [Zdeněk] Cupák. Zdenka [?] is to bring a BL record to Prague with a recording of a concert by [?] BM. Recently received a letter from Harry Halbreich. Apparently HH will soon get in touch with Jan Novák as well. BL will go to Paris, among other things to meet Charlotte Martinů. He mentions his work on his book on BM and asks about specific pieces (PETRKLÍČ, LA JOLLA, CZECH DANCES, JULIETTA, POLNÍ MŠE, ŠPALÍČEK, KYTICE, SYMPHONY Nos. 4, 5 and 6) in which he tries to identify the signs of "Czechness" and the specifics of his musical language in rhythmic, melodic and harmonic terms. He is also interested in the basic character traits of Czech music, folk music, old Czech songs and their possible use in BM's work.
