Content and physical description
ContentThe sender writes to Charlotta Martinů that he has already informed [Jaroslav] Berger, who was supposed to look at the score of ISTAR directly at Dilia. However, JB did not get in touch. He has no information about the Sonata for flute, violin and piano. However, he did find mention of the manuscript being in Bärenreiter's possession. THE BIRTH OF THE LADY is a separate work for which Bohuslav Martinů had a contract with Melantrich. The manuscript of the work is in Polička. However, nothing prevents the entire PLAYS OF MARY from being published by Bärenreiter. Nor is there any problem with legal matters: the work can be published abroad. However, the Czechoslovak performance is reserved only for them [Melantrich?]. The sender also draws attention to a letter from the Panton publishing house concerning the publication of other works by BM. It is also necessary to resolve questions about SYMPHONY No. 2 and SYMPHONY No. 3. [Miloš] Šafránek is not angry and his book is already available in libraries.
