Content and physical description
ContentKarel Šebánek is going to London and Paris, so he asks for Charlotte's [Martinů] address. He would take manuscripts and materials from her to run and lend abroad. He [František Martinů] is to write if he needs money. The manuscript of CONCERTINA PRO KLAVÍR has not yet been handed over to him by [Jiří] Jirouš, although KS has informed him that the manuscript is the composer's property and that he is to hand it over to him for the production of orchestral material. He will deal with this through the Composers' Syndicate. JJ certainly did not request permission to perform from FM. KS needs a written report asking him to continue to look after B[ohuslav Martinů]'s affairs during his absence from the CSR. From France KS received from Deiss the SONATA FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO, the SONATA FOR 2 VIOLINS AND PIANO, 7 ARABESQUE FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO and also a version for cello and piano, and from La Siréne he received the PIANO QUINTET and AVEC UN DOIGT. They are to ask [František] Cinderella which pieces he wishes to send. He has not received a message from America for 3 months, only a package. Today he wrote a new letter concerning JULIETTA, whose piano extract has already been submitted by Karel Šolc, and the FIELD MASS, which is also in preparation. Both works will be published autumn-winter 1946. LIDICE is already finished and will be put on sale within 14 days. For all this he has asked for instructions from the composer, but without success.
