Content and physical description
ContentMiloš Sádlo played in Helsinki a new version of Martinů's VIOLONCELLO CONCERT No.1. There was a general strike in Finland, so no publicity from that. The concert was well liked, it was just a tough nut to crack for the orchestra. He will play it again in Prague with Smetacek and the city orchestra [FOK]. Sádlo recalls Martinů's promise to complete for him the THIRD VIOLONCELLO CONCERT [sic! thought probably CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO No. 2]. Sádlo had already promised a performance at the [Prague Spring] Festival in May 1957. There they will also play the new stock for Kubelík [FRESKY PIERA DELLA FRANCESCA]. Sádlo will hopefully soon send recordings of SYMPHONY No. 6 and SPALICE, recorded by Ančerl with ČF. The composer Řídký has died. Šebánek is not to be seen, he is still in the archives. Tomorrow Munch plays there with the Boston Philharmonic.
