Content and physical description
ContentMartinů received 2370 francs. He will send the manuscripts as soon as they return from performance. The chamber works would be best copied by photographic or decal printing. There are new inexpensive copying procedures.
Melantrich is to inform G. Szell of the Deutsches Theater that Martinů will soon send him INVENCE. They are also to offer the work to the Czech Philharmonic and to the radio in Prague and Brno. Martinů will send the material and score.
He will send the score and a clav excerpt of the HARTS OF MARIA to the Czech Theatre in Olomouc during July. The Provincial Theatre in Brno also wants the PLAYS OF MARY. Martinů would arrange the material for both productions by asking the National Theatre.
What has Melantrich done about popular plays? Martinů needs someone to adapt Gogol's text into a libretto [THE MARRIAGE ? (1952)] They have to prepare THE SPALET for Russia, they have to ask Vymětal how to do it. By when do they want the "Concertino for violin and piano" [perhaps SONATINA H. 262?]
