ContentBohuslav [and Charlotta] Martinů did not receive any news from Paul [and Maja] Sacher for a long time. BM wonders if the Sachers received all his letters. He has not yet received anything from them in America. BM has written to them twice and promised to send them the manuscript of the violin concerto [CONCERTO DA CAMERA]. The big changes and news were holding him back. He started to work on the piece but is not satisfied with the result. In the summer he will hopefully sort everything out in his head, now concentration is impossible. I hope PS is not angry. BM will definitely write the piece, he will try to compose it during the summer he will spend in the country on the Island [Martha's Vineyard]. He does not know how he will send the manuscript and whether PS will get it in time for his program.
He is not working in New York and hasn't finished anything; he is unhappy about it.
He has no news from friends and does not know if they have received letters from him. He has received only one letter from Karolina Martinů and a note from the M[organ] bank in Aix-en-Provence
BM showed a DOUBLE CONCERT in the Universal [Edition?].
Sergei Alexandrovich Koussevitsky performs CONCERTO GROSSO. SINFONIETTA GIOCOSA ["Sinfonia"] will be premiered. BM has offered a DOUBLE CONCERT to Dimitri Mitropoulos and does not yet know the outcome.
The performance of TRE RICERCARI left a good impression on BM.
BM has written to Jean Rudolph Frey and has not received a reply.
He gives his New York address. He writes to the Sachers from the country.
