Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů does not know whether Karel Šebánek is receiving his letters, since he keeps writing that he is waiting for replies. Finally, the JULIETTE [materials] have arrived and everything is in order. Gogola has already received [the Marriage]. BM regrets that the package sent to him by KS was returned by the post office. Similarly with the parcel from Henry Honzl, KS is to apologize to him. BM explains that it is better to send letters in the ordinary way, the mail comes reliably. Registered mail is only issued by the post office in their own hands, which was a problem for BM during the holidays. BM hopes that he has received a receipt to collect the money to cover KS's expenses. BM also sent him tobacco and $10 worth of vouchers. KS is to have copies of the HERES O MARIA score made for BM. He has not yet written to the theatre [National?], will do so as soon as possible. He asks KS to help the siblings in Polička to get a larger sum of money again, like last time. He encloses a letter regarding the BOWS (see Šeb 1951-10-06b). Considers it nonsense to reprint the compositions after 45 years. He has written enough for them to choose something else, and not present him with works for children.
