Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů has no news about the JULIETTE materials, he wrote to all parties (to Jindřich Honzl, to addresses given to him by Karel Šebánek, to Washington). He also asked for PLAYS ABOUT MARIA. He does not understand why Orbis is not interested. BM can have the materials copied in America, but then no money from the performance will go to Orbis. The postage is to be taken from BM's account with Orbis, the materials packed and sent - nothing more. Even if there are some voices at home against him, they can't stop him from running his works! Regarding THE BRIDGE OF THE BRIDGE, BM does not understand what KS meant by his letter that BM should keep the Czech edition. He doesn't know if they are making a claim for an edition with a Czech text. He should have made himself clearer. They still hold the right to the Czech text. But he doesn't know if he is to keep it only for a possible home edition. Boosey & Hawkes have published small scores of SYMPHONY 4 and 5. BM can arrange for some pieces to be sent. When KS did not send him Gogol, BM asked [siblings]. He leaves New York the next day. About the material [Juliette] will make one last attempt and write to Minister Václav Kopecký. Someone told him that BM did not answer his letter, but BM does not remember. KS is to write to see if anything else can be done in the matter of signing a contract with B&H. Alternatively KS could sign a contract with Schott Publishing in Mainz.
