Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů has not heard from Karel Šebánek for a long time. He has had no answer from Washington or the National Theatre about JULIETTE. He will try to write to the new director. BM considers another year lost. He has thought of another solution, namely to buy the whole Juliette material, and possibly HER ABOUT MARIA. He asks for KS's opinion. He thinks he will never get to them otherwise. He also writes to the director Josef Burd. He also needs an answer quickly from KS, because he is leaving in mid-June and will be on the road all the time after that. THE BRIDGE was given by Boosey & Hawkes. He will be signing the contract in the next few days so if KS has any objections he should write immediately. The work will be done at the end of May. KS is to get in touch with Henry Swoboda, who is now in Vienna, as he would like to record all the SERENADES. BM is looking forward to the SPALICE.
