Content | Bohuslav Martinů has sent the score of LA BAGARRE and the piano pieces FILM EN MINIATURE. He needs the orchestral material so as to score it. He asks if they could look through it quickly or possibly score it themselves. Moreover, he asks whether they have the score of his [STRING] QUARTET [NO. 2]. He does not possess any copy himself. If they do have it, could they send it to him so that he can carry out the corrections. He asks them to inform him whether this score can be used for printing or whether he has to rewrite it. At the same time, he is writing to the National Theatre in Prague, asking them whether they have the full score and the piano score of the ballet WHO IS THE MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD; if not, he will send them to them himself. He has realised, however, that he has to make a new piano score, since the present one is only suitable for a ballet hall and does not suffice. He and Kipling have not yet definitely agreed, Kipling requires too high a fee. Otherwise, he has completed the ballet [THE BUTTERFLY THAT STAMPED]. He will send the “Operatext” for translation later. At the National Theatre in Prague there is a copy of the score of WHO IS THE MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD, which can be purchased for 1,000 Kč. They should inform him whether they are interested in it in the case of further performances. |
