| Content | Bohuslav Martinů wanted to do SNÁŘ, but he didn't see it so clearly yet, so he went back to another suite [DIVADLO ZA BRÁNOU]. These are pantomimes, a bit converted into ballet. He has found similar scripts of Debureau pantomimes that suit him very well. He continues to pursue his own theatre and tréteaux, and now finds himself with commedia dell'arte, although there is something about that kind of theatre that bothers him. He therefore opts for pantomime, he wants to conceive of it as a circus or a fair, in short, as a folk spectacle. He would use the characters on the ramp as singers, the pantomime would remain as a dance, and he would complete the whole thing with a chorus (the principle of the SPALICE and MARY). He doesn't know if these elements can be merged together, he wants to intersperse the whole thing with the lyrics of national songs as in MARIÍÍ. He asks Jinrich Honzl to write his opinion on this. Perhaps he would like one play performed by singers to a folk, comic text by Nezval. He wonders if it would work together as well. JH asks if he wants to perform MARIE in Prague. If JH had spoken to Muzika, BM would be interested in his opinion on the set [commedia dell'arte]. |
