Content and physical description
ContentWladimir Lakond is delighted to meet Bohuslav Martinů in person. They had the opportunity to discuss in person the matters they had written about. When BM withdrew from publishing some of his works with Boosey & Hawkes, he therefore has some works available, including INTERMEZZ. He therefore asks BM to send him the score. He is also very interested in RYTINY and wonders if the Louisville Orchestra will perform the piece. WL also hopes BM will find manuscripts of chamber music in Nice, such as the Clavier Trio Nos. 2 and 3, the Quartet for oboe, violin, violoncello and piano, the Concerto for Cembalo and Small Orchestra, and the Three Czech Dances. BM also explains the difference in the prices of the editions. It is not possible for edition prices to be the same in all countries because economic circumstances are different in each country. WL plans to publish a small score [of the SMITH QUARTET No. 7] of 6x9 inches, score and orchestral part. Please refer to the attached contract. As soon as everything is printed, he will send BM copies. He then asks BM for his address.
