ContentBohuslav Martinů asks for permission to set Julius Zeyer's merry play Old History to music. He names his achievements to date. For CZECH RAPSODY he received the Second Grand Prize of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in 1921 he received a prize from the Havelka Fund for MAGICAL NIGHTS and a prize from the Chamber Music Society for [SMITH] QUARTET [No. 1]. This season the National Theatre will present the dance poem ISTAR. The libretto of OLD HISTORY is in charge of the editor of the Tribune, J[osef] Kodicek.
