Content and physical description
ContentCharlotta Martinů replies to Zdeněk Pechold's letter of 17 September 1970. She recommends that he contact Walter Schmolka directly, who, unlike her, has an English translation of JULIETTA. He gives Schmolka's address. Alternatively, ChM can send Schmolka a letter from Dilia by airmail.
He thanks Pechold for the three records sent with CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO No. 2. He also asks that the plates with RHAPSODY-CONCERTO FOR VIOLA AND ORCHESTRA with soloist Ronald Golan be sent. She promised them to Marc Pincherl, president of the Académie Charles-Cros, for the [Grand] Prix du Disque International. It's very important.
ChM salutes the addressee and Mrs. Kalyakin.
ChM will bring the stamps when he arrives in Prague. Reminds her that Dilia still has not answered her about the THREE WISHES to be performed this season in Prague.

ChM encloses an older contract between her and Walter Schmolka for the English translation of JULIETTA.
WS will receive 20% of the total royalties from performances and recordings for ten years. This covers the performance and distribution of the opera in Schmolka's translation in any country where royalties accrue to Charlotte. The contract does not, of course, apply to performances of the opera in Geraldine Much's English translation.
After ten years, WS will receive 10% of the royalties.
ChM will pay the appropriate amount once a year directly to Schmolko from the royalties received.
