| Content | Charlotta Martinů apologizes for writing late. After her return from Czechoslovakia she travelled a lot. She went again to Nice, where it was too warm.
She wrote to the Ambassador in Paris, Václav Pleskot, about two diplomatic pouches, but he has not yet replied.
She stopped by Boosey & Hawkes and mentioned the Prague success of JULIETTA. B&H said there would be interest in the opera in France, but they only have one piano lift themselves. Could Dilia send several to B&H?
Does Dilia have any information on the September performance of "The Well" [OPENING OF THE WELL, SPALICE, see DLA 1963-00-00c]?
Hope the addressee and her family and Zdenek Pechold had a pleasant summer. ChM would like to meet them, perhaps in September in Prague. Soon she will be going to Switzerland, where there will be a Mass for the anniversary of Bohuslav Martinů's birth and the world premiere [of CONCERT FOR PIANO TRIO AND SMITH ORCHESTRA, 31 Aug] at the Lucerne Festival.
ChM greets the addressee, ZP, Jan Matějček and other Dilia staff.
Dilia must have received a letter from Israeli Music Publications asking for books to be sent. This is an agreement between the ChM and IMP, which in return will send the Prague Teachers' Singing Association material for ISAIAH'S PROPHECY. ChM would then pay for the books. They will discuss everything the next time ChM is in Prague. |
