Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů hopes that "little Jeník" [Nebeský?] is already well. Did the addressee receive his letter? [Maurits] Frank wrote that he could not arrange the exact date [of the Frank-Novak Quartet concert] until he had met with the others. Bohuslav Martinů hopes that Jane Mortier has already written. MF is coming to Prague, so he will sort it out soon. MF plays the DUO PRO HOUSLE AND VIOLONCELLO No. 1 on the radio in Frankfurt on 7 September. Elisabeth Coolidge, who supports artists and wants to do something for Czechoslovakia, will also be in Prague. They will probably play a quartet there [SMYČC. QUARTET No. 2]. He has finished the thing [COME ON!] he is thinking of giving to the Russian Ballet. It was a big job, but it's going to sound great. He wrote the last chord today. Now he's going to start the aeroplane [STRANGE FLIGHT]. He was visited by [Stanislav] Novak and Isha Krejši. MF is still pushing him to do a cell concert, but there won't be time. He is very busy with ballets, when he comes to Paris he will have to go to Marguerite Bériza. Charlotte wrote that the Rotunda and Dome have been occupied by the police and large demonstrations are expected. That is why he had "Matin" sent and is also looking forward very much to returning. He received a photograph of himself and his mother in the Colourful Week. When is BN going back to Paris? Greetings to the doctor.
