There will be little recitative and a later change would interfere with the music. Karel Šebánek sent nothing, but BM would need "that harmonica". Is there any chance that Bureš would get a passport? What does he say about Chekhov's synopsis? BM thinks it would make a good comedy. If Bures wants to tell something he doesn't want to write, he should tell "my parents". They are preparing a Field Mass in Brno and Prague and BM wants to point out that there is a mistake in the score. It is important that the singing on pages 18, 19, 20 and 21 is for the baritone solo, not the chorus. Presumably Kühn's choir will be doing it, so Bures should tell him. Milý přiteli:
Nevim zdali jsem vám už psal že pochybuji, že budu miti čas se do nových věcí pustit před vánocemi.[1] Než se usadim v Řimě a než dokončim operu uplyne asi dost dní.[2] Ale v každem případe se vás chci zeptat, zdali obě romance[3] jsou už teď definitivni[4] a nebo zdali půjdete jěšte jednou skrz. To abychom se vyhnuli pozdějším opravám. V těch bramborových natích se mi zda že to někde váha a myslim že byste se měl na to jěšte jednou podivati.[5] Ponevadž recitativu tam bude málo a asi žadné, každá pozdějši změna by zasáhla do změny hudby.[6] Podivejte se na to. Šebanek mi ovšem neposlal nic a je myslim teď za hranicemi, nevim kdy se vráti, potřeboval bych tu harmoniku.[7] A co je s vašimi plány, neni naděje že byste dostal pas?[8] Šebanek piše že možná přijede do Řima[9] (?)[10] Dostal jste to moje synopsis na Čechova, myslite že by vam to šlo do péra?[11] Myslim že by z toho byla dobrá komedie.[12] Kdybyste něco chtěl co nechcete psát, sdělte to našim.
Chtel bych vas o něco požádat. Psali mi z Brna ze chystaji v Brne i v Praze moji Polni mši a chtěl bych je upozornit ze je v partiture chyba, aby si to opravili a take zdělili do Brna.[13] Ten zpěv na stránce 18, 19, 20, 21. je pro baryton Solo a ne pro sbor, to je důležite pro formu celé věci.[14] Nevim kdo to bude dělat asi Kuhnuv [Kühnův] sbor, tak mu to sdělte a nebo počkejte až se vráti Šebánek, ktery to může zařidit.[15] Odjizdime příšti tyden a tak už asi mužete psát do Řima.
