Content and physical description
ContentJan Kunc apologizes to BM for writing back to his letter only now, he is very busy. He was unable to visit BM in Polička in the summer, where BM was invited. The writer accepts the dedication of the Moravian Dances [Rondo H.200] and informs BM that they are planning a party and public concert of BM's compositions at the Brno Conservatory. The publisher Leduc has sent the writer Preludes pour piano [Eight Preludes] and informs BM that he is ordering his compositions from Leduc through Pazdirk's publishing house and ordering BM's Serenade from Schott. The writer comments on the composition of the jury (V. Kaprál, O. Chlubna, D. Orel) of the Smetana Jubilee Prize and expresses doubts about its impartiality, which he documents as allegedly manipulated by J. B. Foerster's winning the great Jubilee Prize. The writer expresses his distant relationship with V. Kapral. The writer promises BM that he will do everything in his favour to win the prize from the Smetana Foundation and also from the Czech Sokol Society, where he is also on the jury. The writer admires BM for facing the unfavourable situation in which BM now finds himself. The writer offers BM a position as professor of composition at the Brno Conservatory, which BM could take up from the new school year, and describes BM's job description for this position.
