Content and physical description
ContentKarl Vötterle answers Harry Halbreich's many questions. In the attachment KV sends information about DUO CONCERTANT and RHAPSODIA. THE PLAYS OF MARY needs even longer study, the sheet music is much disorganized and contains no dating information as HH would have wished.
The PROMENADES have been sent back to Mrs Charlotte Martinů and the SONATA FOR FLUTE, HOUSEL AND CEMBALO, which according to Mrs ChM should be in the publishing house, was sent to Bohuslav Martinů for proofreading at the time and has not returned to the publishers.
However, BM Bärenreiter will not publish a catalogue of the work, as they have obligations to Czechoslovakia to publish a book by Mios Šafránek in German.
ALEXANDER BIS and INCANTATIONS will be published next year.
KV is upset about information from Prague, where he was told that a pianist (KV has forgotten his name) received a copy of the score of INKANTATIONS from an unknown person and is now giving concerts with this work. Before the official release of the work, KV considers this a gross copyright infringement and asks HH if he knows anything about this case or who might have provided the pianist with the score.
