Content and physical description
ContentHarry Halbreich writes to Karl Vötterle about the triumphant success of the Paris premiere of INKANTATIONS. Jean Riviere's Symphony No. 6 in the second part of the evening was completely overshadowed by Bohuslav Martinů's piano concerto. The performers are now requesting a printed score of the work in order to continue performing the concert.
HH describes the concertos and briefly analyses the Incantations, promising them a dizzying career and recommending that the publisher prioritise their publication over other works.
According to HH, the Incantations were written between December 22, 1955 and February 6, 1956. He would be happy to write a preface to Incantations in the printed edition.
