Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů's SYMPHONY No. 2 and SYMPHONY No. 3 are not bound by the contract of 22 October 1943 with Boosey & Hawkes, but by the contract of 1 January 1952, in which some works were returned to BM and others retained.
B&H published SYMPHONIES Nos. 1, 4, 5, 6, but not SYMPHONIES Nos. 2 and 3 because there is no interest in them. Publishers have to be guided by the success of works, especially by such a prolific composer as BM. If Mrs Charlotte Martinů wishes the rights to these symphonies back, they will be happy to give them back to her.
