Content and physical description
ContentAlfred Schlee acknowledges receipt of the banners of Act 4 of the GREEK PASSIONS. He is happy that Nikos Kazantzakis agrees to the terms, AS will contact Max Tau and send him the contract for NK. AS sends [handwritten note: in a separate letter] to Bohuslav Martin the contracts for the GREEK PASSIONS, he is to return them signed. AS also asks to sign the contract for the CONCERT FOR CEMBALO AND SMALL ORCHESTRA.
Because of the confusion over the payments for the translations of EPOS ON GILGAMES into English and German, AS wants to send BM 500 Swiss francs. Should he send the money to Italy?
Dr. Krenn wrote that he could not get hold of Mr. Ghiringhelli. AS has no news from him, nor has he received the libretto [of the GREEK PASSIONES?]
AS thinks London would not be bad either. They could hear the work there in its original form and then possibly change it for the German countries. Anyway, Rafael Kubelík has the first act of the score for your perusal. AS agrees that "Christ Recruited" is not a suitable title for the opera, so they will keep the title GREEK PASSIONS.
PS - attached is the contract for the EPOS ON GILGAMES.
