ContentHis first book has arrived [probably from Fromm]; FJ already has a passport and BM hopes she can come with the doctor; rumours are spreading at home that BM will come; he has written to Frank; Legend will be heard in Prague at the Festival (about 28.5.)-BM will listen on the radio and then in Polička; B. is not in It. yet, waiting for a visa; BM's Collected Works published in Brno- includes memories of Talich, Bořkovec and S. Novák, article from his mother, etc.- 3 copies were sent to him, but the Ministry had to give permission; he intends to stay in Rome with Ch. for the whole summer; he has written a new composition for mixed choir to a text by Bures; he has not heard how the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia turned out- they played BM Fantasy there; K. Novák did not write to him, he only wrote home; at the Festival they will play 4 pieces for him; about polit. The situation in the world; he had not seen Olga; he had ordered Studanek for FJ and sent it to her, but it may have been lost- the same thing probably happened to Lövenbach; he mentions Šebánek, Kubelík and Frank; Legend will be sung by Kühn's choir (who also recorded Studanek); Š. had his passport taken away on arrival; Š[afránek] will stay in Prague; he does not yet speak Italian at all.
