Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů expresses to Charlotte Martinů his regret for what he is experiencing during the move. Two weeks have passed since his departure from Paris, they will soon meet. He had trouble understanding her previous letter and asks for careful writing of the address. The letters from ChM only arrived by sheer chance. He is well placed at the Coolidge [SMITH QUINTET] festival and BM hopes for a cash payout. If that works out, they will start looking for an apartment for both of them. He had success in Baden [with KITCHEN REVUE and JAZZ SUITE], [Heinrich Bukard] of Baden invites him to the festival next year with a theatrical piece. The packet with the program and music has arrived, BM just needs to forward the letters if ChM will forward them. The postcard was from the pianist, with whom BM had communicated before leaving; however, she remains at home. He is awaiting a visit from [Stanislav] Novak. Listened to a radio broadcast about himself yesterday, where nice things were said, but no mention of ChM, whom BM loves and misses so much. Advises ChM not to deal with misunderstandings with [Vaclav] Nebesky and Mrs Sère, it will pass. Plans to go to the cinema today with his mother [Karolina Martinů].
