Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů that he has not received any letter since Thursday and does not know where the key to the mailbox is. He has completed the second movement of the Quartet [SMITH QUARTET No. 7 (CONCERTO DA CAMERA)], which he wants to finish before he leaves so that he can rest. He will talk to [Jan] Svec on the subject of the house which is near Prague. He has no news from Karel [Novák], he probably has to rest after the [Prague Spring] festival, BM will write to him about the material for SYMPHONY No. 5. BM also wants to thank the Masaryks, [Alén] Diviš has also written to him, who is still settling in and preparing an exhibition for the autumn. He writes that all the painters earned fantastic sums during the war, including [Jan] Zrzavý, who intends to go to the Camaret for the holidays.
Perhaps BM will rest in the countryside with [Frank] Rybka. Antonín [Svoboda] will come for dinner, BM will prepare Czech sausages for him.
