Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů went to Paris with Alain [Bécourt] to the Eschig publishing house. She managed to meet Philippe Marietti and he promised her material for the ballet CHAX OF KINGS. It will be ready next week, it has to be proofread. There is no piano lift, the CHF will have to get that. As soon as ChM has the parts, she will send them to Prague - probably through the Czechoslovak Embassy in Paris, she will write to Mr. Lorenzo about it, it will probably be possible to pass the materials through the Minister of Culture [Milan Klusák]. The following is a list of materials for Sasha Vettomov, Prof. [Lev] Ginsburg and Ivan Straus: SONATA FOR CELLO No. 2, BERGERETTES, THE GREAT TRIO [probably CONCERT FOR PIANO TRIO AND ORCHESTRA?], FIVE SHORT COMPOSITIONS, CZECH RAPSODY and perhaps the autograph of CZECH RAPSODY.
She reminds Richard Klos to send her the promised article in French about [Miloš] Šafránek.
She thinks of Jan Zrzavý, asks RK for a report on his health.
ChM would like to invite the conductor Antonio de Almeida, who had already performed successfully in Prague a few summers ago.
The Czech Nonet 5 will play on 5 and 29 November. KVARTET, ChM hopes to be able to go. She is expecting a visit from the English writer Michael Henderson, who intends to write a book about Bohuslav Martinů.
