Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks the family for the letter he received today. He is glad for Paul Sacher's offer of the [TWO-CONCERT] material, he will take care of it right away. It won't be easy, everyone has left here, but he will certainly find a good copyist. If PS gets a package of sheet music from Prague, he is to send it to the composer. BM has tried to get the score and material for CONCERTA GROSSA from there, but he doesn't know if it will be possible. PS is to look at the score before sending it to him. BM will later write a letter to the family and send it to Sacher.
He is working a bit over the holidays. He has written [CZECH] MADRIGALS on Czech folk texts for trio, quintet and sextet (soprano, alto, tenor, bass solo), it is two books (8 madrigals). He will make a copy and translation into English and German and send it to Sacher for review. He is currently working on a FIELD MASS. It's an open air Czech military mass for male choir, 2 piccolos, 2 clarinets, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, lots of percussion, harmonium, piano, with doubling for organ replacing harmonium and piano. He will also make a copy of this and would like to send it to the family.
He thinks a lot of PS [with Charlotte Martinů] [and Maja Sacher]. They are waiting, as is the whole world. BM will write about the material.
