ContentMembers of the female choir Vlastimila with conductor Karel Hejdušek congratulate Bohuslav Martinů on his birthday. At a concert in Prostějov on 7 December [1958] they sang OPENING OF THE STUDENTS. The performance was a success. The baritone solo by Jaroslav Gamba of the M[oravské] U[chitelů] Singers sounded especially beautiful. They invited Miloslav Bures to the concert, but he could not come because of his work. He promised to bring LEGEND and ROMANCES FROM PAMPELIŠEK. They wanted to perform LEGEND in the autumn of 1959, when the choir would celebrate its 90th anniversary. He asks BM to dedicate a song or minor piece to them if possible for the occasion.
