Content and physical description
ContentMiloš Šafránek sends a poem by J. A. Comenius for Bohuslav Martinů's Cantata. It will be a suitable text for the Dutch [Haghe Sanghers], as Komenský wrote and published it in Amsterdam [but BM apparently did not use the text, see The Mountain of Three Lights].
MS was ill last week, the doctor treated him for kidney stones. That is why he did not immediately reply to Bohuš's letter and to the messages he sent. BM should write more carefully, though. MS would like to reply to him directly, but for the time being it will be wiser if they correspond through Polička. Through Marie Martinů, therefore, he thanks Charlotta Martinů for the pictures of her daughter Anicka [Fárová].
He has not been able to find out anything in the matter of the GAMES ABOUT MARIA. They are to contact Karel Šebánek. Today, MŠ spoke at a rehearsal of the Capital City Symphony Orchestra. Prague Symphony Orchestra to the players regarding the [2nd] BM Violin Concert. BM will be amused by the news that [Bohumil] Klabík was sitting at the first viol desk. The concert is to take place tomorrow 28.9. with soloist Bruno Belcik.
In the winter, the MC will have a series of 3 lectures on BM at the Music Theatre. If BM would send new LPs of his compositions, he could play them to the MŠ on that occasion. He still thinks of BM, especially in this rainy weather that reminds him of Paris winters. He hopes for a happy reunion with Germaine [Leroux], BM, Maruska [Prazanova] and MM.
