Content and physical description
ContentThe letter from Marie Martinů made Miloš Šafránek very happy. He would like to advise Bohuslav Martinů on the text [for the planned cantata commissioned by Haghe Sanghers], perhaps MŠ himself will compose something. He is glad that BM remembered him. MS is now tied up in Prague, where he is working on an English book on Janáček and also on two catalogues. On 3 September he will give a lecture at the Music Theatre. He doesn't know yet when he will be making his way to Polička, perhaps sometime in September, but he will definitely be stopping by.
Germaine [Leroux] has been in South America since 15 July, but will be returning slowly to Paris. GL will be playing the 2nd BM Piano Concert at the Grand Theatre in Düsseldorf this season under the direction of [Eugenio] Szenkar.
MŠ is interested to know where BM is now staying, what is the cast of HYMNUS KE SV. James and when he composed it. BM has certainly already completed the opera on Goldoni's text [MIRANDOLINA], so what is he planning now?
