Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Vladimír Vaňek that the Jakerls came to visit them, wept at the OPENING OF THE STUDIOS and left again. [Jan] Brázda wrote to him that he would be in Rome in May. If he is still there, let VV tell him that the opera GREEK PASSIONS will not be performed until about a year from now and he doesn't even know where yet. BM did a complete redo of the last act which didn't work out theatrically and BM is still drowning in it. If JB had a trip through Basel, BM would still be here for another month. BM was expected in Prague for the performance of EPOS OF GILGAMES, but in vain. The Martins remain at Schoenberg until mid-June, then they will probably go to France. BM has heard that VV will go to Sweden for the holidays. VV is to write up his plans. The Martins are working in the garden and BM is going to the hospital with his hand and it is getting a little better, but not much. This also prevents him from continuing to work on the score of the opera [GREEK PASSION] with the speed to which he was accustomed.
