FM is already eating and relieved of his fear. When FM was in hospital, Jindřiška Martinů also had to be taken to hospital with a hernia, and last week she had an operation. Hospital visits are only on Wednesdays and Sundays, so she will find out how she is tomorrow. Only FM will probably go there, because Marie Martinu's pleurisy is upset because of the cold, so she has to be careful that she doesn't have to go to the hospital too and FM doesn't stay home alone. Mr. Saffr[ánek] didn't bring the Hague diploma/plate so they will write to Bohuslav Martinů to see who he is with and if they need BM's confirmation so they can pick it up. KS will get the sculptor's address from Michalovic, whom KS says he knows. Now the question is whether KS will allow the trip outside the Czechoslovakia. It looks like they didn't return TWO WRITES, she would have to search everything thoroughly. [Miroslav] Bures is in Polička, he is sending Legenda BM, he is looking forward to it. The film STUDENT will also be shown in Polička, probably connected with a concert. They are glad that POLNÍ MŠI has been withdrawn. Perhaps [Otakar] Holmann [sic] has completely reworked the score [CONCERTINA FOR LEFT HAND] to suit himself. MB says that the records with the STUDENTS were definitely sent to BM, but he still writes that he doesn't have them. He's worried about BM because of his arm, he needs rest but he's too busy to make things worse. Also Charlotte Martin was ill before Christmas, she is still not well. She asks KS to say if she will go abroad. He is also to give his regards to Dr. Siom [?] and Dr. [Jiri] Pilka who have been with them. FM thanks him for his interest and health. BM's exhibition is very nice, it is still in the theatre. He still asks KS to check the score of STUDENTS, he says there are mistakes. |
